That’s how would the Daily picdump look if Izismile existed 50 years ago   This is the set of pictures of our visitor DannyThomson, who put the link in the comments and shortly wrote his story. Thanks a lot Danny for letting us publish your pictures and for your explanations :) Here’s his complete story about the accident. Oct 10, 2008. Day 1 I was in the batting cage with my brother, I pitched him the ball and I wasnt fully behind the pitching net, just being lasy. The ball was hit right back up the middle, hit me around 100mph right on the left cheek. It shattered everything, my bone punctured through my skin and was squirting blood causing more blood than just out of my nose and mouth.  This is a project of Michael Wolf, called “A room of everyone’s own." Many people in Hong Kong live like this, it is hard to believe but it is true. Surprisingly enough, some of the tenants are very old but they are still working. And now, let’s see their tiny rooms which make it all very sad.   Well, it is a little riddle for children normally, not that difficult but it can be rather tricky for us, adults. The instructions are written on the picture. She made short X-ray films showing the movement of the tongue and the entire mouth area. It’s really weird but in the same time, very interesting to see! In his twenties, he developed acromegaly, a rare disease that causes bones to grow wildly and uncontrollably. Soon his whole body was disfigured as a result. There are rumors that the Shrek character was inspired by Tillet’s look. Who knows but he really does have a lot in common with the character.  USS Independence (LCS-2) is the second class prototype for the Independence-class littoral combat ship. It was designed and built by General Dynamics, Aural and Bath Iron Works. It is intended as a small assault transport with a variety of capabilities depending on the mission module installed. The ship is a trimaran design capable of over 40 knots (74 km/h; 46 mph), and will normally be delivered to the US Navy at the end of 2009. This 127-meter ship requires a crew of 40 sailors and has a maximum range of 20,000 km. Really impressive! I love the design in general, especially the trimaran hull…  How do you think they transport a big brand new locomotive and place it on the rails? Well, they use an enormous, very long and powerful truck! I’m always amazed by such trucks… Look at more pics after the jump.  Look how many people gathered and how hard they are pulling this net. I wonder what they caught. When you see the catch at the end, it will be quite a surprise for you ))  You just need to see this. This is one of the most beautiful tilt-shift photography I’ve seen till now. Enjoy!  The author of those cool 8-Bit Fatalities, Steven Lefcourt, was inspired by the controversy over the violence in video games. He says: “Just because you didn’t see pac-man violently tearing into the ghosts with his jaws, or mario smashing in the brains of a goomba, that’s what I knew was happening.” So, he decided to show us just what he imagined was happening when these pixelized characters came into contact with each other, but in a much more gory way… like in Mortal Kombat!
