Ever wonder what it looks like for a snake to digest a rat. Well, these photos show you exactly what it looks like. The images were captured thanks to magnetic resonance imaging and computer tomography. I don’t think this caused the snake any grief and for that matter at this point the rat didn’t mind either.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention during biology class but I never knew snakes had ribs like that.

Yeah pretty cool!
There was a programme on over here in England recently called Inside Natures Giants where they did an autopsy on a python and showed all the ribs etc. Was really interesting :)

I saw a scientific paper over this, it explains that the animal is shred to pieces until he gets to the part near the tail, were it is digested by the pyton's stomack's gastric juice.
