Rather than to offer a meaningless, empty insult, you should just realize that if a=b, then a-b=0. This means that the second last step shows that 2x0=1x0, i.e., 0=0, which is of course, true.

In the very last step of the proof, you can't further reduce to 2=1, because that would be dividing by zero.

In honestly, I found the proof pretty clever and I got a chuckle out of it.
