I'm not pro-america on this whole ware but i dont think this is their fault, the Taliban destroyed alot of thing because they had forbidden it. (The giant buddha's, for example, were destroyed by the taliban).

@ Lotsno... the Soviets may have screwed up their strategy or just being there in the first place, but they did a lot of rebuilding and created a lot of infrastructure... ask any Afghani

I just read some history on this. The Russians didn't do this, the Americans didn't do it. It was warring tribes of Afghanis, and the Taliban did destroy the Buddhas. The country used to have a healthy tourism industry.

Or just blame Bush, and don't bother to try and learn the truth. Typical

this war was before Talibans exit many years. This city is victim of the cold war if anyone of you know the history. During that time Americans and radical Muslims were friends and the redicals receive alot of support from USA including (Weapons, money and training)

Wow, very short historical memory here. Has everyone forgotten that there was full-time war in Afghanistan for two decades prior to NATO involvement? Russians in the 80s, then inter-Afghan war after that.

By the time NATO showed up, the beauty of Afghanistan was long gone.
