Those are ‘before/after’ pictures of homes from Hoarders, a TV show that offers to have a look inside the lives of different people whose inability to part with their belongings is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis. Whether they're facing eviction, the loss of their children, jail time, or divorce, they are all desperately in need of help…
So here are interesting pictures that show how people can let the mess invade their homes and how ‘brave’ persons successfully cleaned it. I think some people should watch that, it could inspire them to clean a bit…
the tv show is a hoax, the "experts" bring in the garbage at first and then peretend to clean it, the owner of the "messy house" receives money for this...
I do actually know people prone to make such mess in their places - that's a certain type of people who don't care
Actually, hoarding is a serious condition suffered by thousands of people. Most consider it an extreme form of OCD where the person is unable to cope with the loss of any material possession; either "in case they made need it later" or because they fear throwing away anything since it's like throwing away a part of themselves.
Where we see trash and unclean living conditions, they see a cocoon of safety in that they know they are surrounded by things that are THEIRS. It's a debilitating disease with a vicious cycle. I can't post links, but just Google it for more information.
If they lived like that before, it'll slowly just turn that way again. I wouldn't want to waste my effort cleaning after a packrat only to know they probably won't keep it that way.
I got my stitches stitched, I got my fixes fixed, In my aching head, I got my kisses slit. Our gossip lips stuttered every word I said, I said, I got your love letters, corrected the grammar and sent them back. It's true romance is dead, I shot it in the chest then in the head.
There is a difference between being a pack rat and a filthy slob. Most of these pictures depict a filthy slob. No excuse for living in that kind of filth.

Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.

U mnie w pokoju też przydałoby się trochę posprzątać;)
