China is the largest coal producer in the world. More than 1 billion tons of raw coal is extracted there in a year. But this is all given at a price, about 5,000 people die each year in the mines and this figure may be understated especially by the Chinese government. Well, let's see in what miserable conditions these brave people work.
China's under a lot of criticism for it's use of coal fuel and their lack of environmental responsibility on the world. China's geography and population bring them to the top of the list as far as pollution and deaths per capita but America has seen the destruction coal has on society. While America's cut back on it's coal use due to this destruction, China continues to exploit it's energy. Even while knowing how awful it is to it's people, the environment and their own economy.
