Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines about one week ago, and later crossed over to Vietnam and Cambodia. Ketsana dropped 455 mm of rain on Metro Manila in 24 hours, or the equivalent of a month of rainfall in a single day. Over 360 people died in this natural disaster and the damages are estimated to reach $100 million. Here are some sad pictures depicting what’s going on over there.
Our Nation Doing Okay, Yes! was one of the lines that helped inspire and cheer up the packers of relief goods. For a country and people to have so little, to have lost so much, and to have given back even more, we can truly say that together, we Filipinos will unite to face any challenge.
I live not far from the floods,,,,,,,,, it is a disaster that Manila is going to suffer for many months,,,,,,the underlying problems are corruption based,,,,,,,,,,,, the government here should hang their heads in shame
Unbelievably sad! Poor little kids, poor little puppies, poor people. Relief is coming from Canada, but how much will get to the people who really need it? It is always the poorest who suffer the most.
