Those who read teen magazines from the 1999-2001, remember these celebrities having their pictures taken for various product advertising.

If you are a fan of actors and actresses from the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s then this large collection of amazing photos will be a thrill. There are posed, behind the scenes and candid photos of the top actors of the era.

A collection of photographs from the Dear Photograph project. People simply hold up their old prints and make their best to align pictures from the past with the same location or view in the present. It’s like a window into the past.

These old black and white photos from the Netherlands’ National Archives show what life was like decades ago. Take a look through history with these powerful images.

The photographer Sander Koot took old photos of these people and reproduced them by having the people mimic the poses.

We all know that China is a progressive country. These pictures show China then and now. The changes are clear.

This is a truly classic collection of real photos from a Kansas City Taco Bell, taken by a person who worked there during that time. Taco Bells have changed dramatically since then, and definitely not for the better. Check out the Spanish tile counters and wood grain Formica paneling, sweet!

If you were a subscriber to Sports Illustrated in the 80’s then you can remember anxiously awaiting the arrival of the swimsuit edition each February. Those scorching hot models, such as Ell MacPherson, Brooke Shields, Cindy Crawford and Kathy Ireland look as good now as they did nearly thirty years ago.

Take a look at these images from the 50s, 60s and 70s and see how things have changed while also staying the same. Clothing styles have definitely changed, especially swimsuits, and it is bizarre to see streets filled with classic cars that were normal in those days.

Meet Graham and Janet Walton, the proud parents of sextuplets named Hannah, the youngest, Jenny, Kate, Sarah, Ruth, and Lucy. They are all 27 years old and their old photo with their parents holding them has been all over the Internet. Journalists from one British newspaper photographed them together to see how the girls have changed since that time.

These are some very scary looking dental tools from long ago. They were very crudely made and not something I would want stuck into my mouth. But then again, in those days they didn’t have much choice.

The students in the 1960’s were a hard partying bunch. Many were hippies who revolted against nearly everything. However, in those days there was a lot of good music and a lot of reasons to have fun.

These are photos of malls all across America in 1989. They were taken by Michael Galinsky who has become famous on the Internet. They are a real blast from the past and very interesting.

Sweet mullets, severely hair sprayed locks, tall bangs and jean jackets galore will make you pine for those simple 1990s times. You could throw on a tight shirt, a pair of rolled up acid washed jeans, white sneaks and hit the local mall for some food and fun. Don’t you wish you still had at least one leather jumpsuit hanging in the closet?

Imagine how drastic your landscape would be if you altered just one aspect of it. These fascinating pictures merge the past with the present with very impressive results. The contrast in the photos will make you appreciate just how much progress we’ve made since back then.

This post is some photos of what appear to be ghosts in Amsterdam. Historical consultant, Jo Teeuwisse located some negatives of World War II photos of Amsterdam at a flea market and then merged them with some more recent shots that she took. It was her way to honor those who came before us.

Jo was inspired by pictures of Sergey Larenkov who used this technique to superimpose old pictures of the Siege of Leningrad during the WW II with the recent pictures he took of the same places where the siege took place. 

These are some nostalgic advertisements from the 70’s and 80’s for various television shows and commercials. You will remember most of them because they were all very popular. Yep, those were the good old days.

British Defense Secretary Liam Fox called Afghanistan “a broken 13th-century country” when he visited it. His words drew fire on him. This happened not because he was wrong, but because he was way too blunt. Actually, Liam Fox wasn’t the first person to call Afghanistan a medieval country. There were people who labeled local inhabitants “barbarians with a 1200 A.D. mentality”. Many people really think that Afghanistan is an ungovernable land with chaos that would never make it out of the Middle Ages.

Still there were times when Afghanistan was a nice country where women could pursue careers in medicine, where people could go to the movies and work on the factories. This country used to produce many goods. It had a government that was able to undertake national infrastructure projects. People believed they had a future, but all their hopes were destroyed by 30 years of war.

I love this set of old photos with all these great stunts. Maybe stunts today seem more spectacular but they don’t have that thing that makes them believable and in most cases computer graphics are used.

Here, there’s no green screen or security equipment. They only have two options: whether they succeed or they fail. Real daredevils from back then.
