For the last 20 years Russia tries to show its progress as a country. And the Eurovision event was a great opportunity to do so. But the gay pride coincided with the final day of Eurovision. Russian authorities forbid gay activists to hold a demonstration and said that the police will “act strictly in adherence with the law." How exactly did the police act you can see after the jump.
400,000 people turned out to watch the largest gay pride march in the Asia Pacific wind its way through the city's Oxford Street gay district. Around 10,000 marchers took part in the parade. And there was a lot to see, a great show ;)
