This is Barra Airport, a short-runway airport situated in the wide shallow bay of the island of Barra, Scotland. The airport is unique, being the only one in the world where scheduled flights use a beach as the runway. At high tide these runways are under the sea - flight times vary with the tide. The aerodrome is not licensed for night use.

See what happens when a large vessel does not know how to dock like the rest of the ships.

Going back to the early 20th century Glass Beach, near Fort Bragg and now part of MacKerricher State Park, was used as a dumping ground for glass and other refuse. Decades later the beach is covered with gorgeous multi-colored glass, smoothed by the ocean.

A huge orange and red lion’s mane jellyfish washed ashore at Kayak Point in Washington as a man and his son strolled the beach. Check out its colorful and gelatinous body.

This is what a beach on the northeastern coastal city of Dalian looks like when over 100,000 tourists flock to it. To say that this beach is overcrowded is the understatement of all time.

On Saturday 16, in Novosibirsk, the largest city of Siberia, was the hottest day in 60 years. Forecasters recorded the temperature of almost + 24 °C (75 F). And thus the beach season was opened by skiing on and riding the bicycles the Ob Sea (artificial lake). 

This California couple named Bryan Solari and Kathleen Moore are enjoying their new nuptials on a beautiful California beach. What happens next is something they will remember the rest of the lives. It is also hilarious.

If you want to show off at the beach, don’t park your BMW on the sand. These guys did a big mistake, and instead of taking some great shots near the sea they had to spend the whole day digging their vehicle out of the sand. People who rested on the beach that day probably laughed heartedly at this scene.

I don’t know why these guys decided to go to the beach in suits, but if the plan was to ruin them, well, I guess it worked!

Princess Juliana International Airport is located on the island of St. Maarten shared by two nations: the French and the Dutch. This airport is famous all over the world because it is too close to the Maho Beach. People who go there always see airplanes that fly just above their heads when entering the airport.

This airport is unique. Its runway is very short, only about 2,130 meters. This is what forces incoming airplanes to low over the beach, and this is what attracts plane spotters from all over the world. They can easily shoot spectacular images of incoming airplanes and get adrenaline while an aircraft is landing under manual flight control, because the airport doesn’t have a system of automatic landing.

At 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) outside, most of us would probably dream about going to the beach. Not if you live in China. With the population of over 1 billion people, the beach here gets too overcrowded on sunny days. It is too crazy!

All the following examples of “washed up photographs” look stunning even if a few of them are Photoshopped. The beach can always share interesting objects to photograph. If you live at the seaside, you should definitely try to take pictures of fantastic landscapes and lost things washed up on the beach.

This is a beach I’d love to go to. It is called Navagio. The beach is situated on Zakynthos Island and is considered one of the most famous beaches in Greece.

It is also called the Shipwreck because it is home to the wreck of the smuggler Scottish ship Panagiotis built in 1937 and crashed on the island in 1980.

I don’t know how about you, but I surely miss summer time. I miss sunny weather, a cool ocean breeze and watching all the beauties on the beach in bikinis. Maybe we can look at them right now? Let’s imagine we are on the beach in one Muslim country…

These beautiful rocks are known as the Moeraki boulders and are unusually large. They lie along Koekohe Beach on the coast of New Zealand. There are local legends that say that these rocks are unusual enough that they look as if they are not of this world.
