It seems that our world is impossible without wars. Soldiers head off to serve leaving their families and friends behind. They can only pray and hope that their second halves will come back home, safe and alive. These photographs show soldier’s emotions at the moment of a farewell and at the moment of a coming home.
Brian Eisch is a Staff Sergeant in the Army who has two sons, Joey and Isaac. Brian had to go to Afghanistan to fight in the war. Because the two boy’s mother isn’t around, when Brian deployed for a year the two boys left their home in upstate New York and went to live with their uncle in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Only having one parent, the two boys had to get used to a new school and a new environment while they were waiting for their father to return home safely.
Where would Brazilian drug dealers hide? They would hole up in the most dangerous slums in Rio. This was what Rio de Janeiro policemen reported. So they held a raid on the shantytown of Alemao after they asked drug traffickers to surrender who, of course, refused to give in. Nearly 200 people have been arrested or detained, and more than 96 buses and cars have been burned during this operation in Rio de Janeiro, the city that will host the final match of the 2014 World Cup as well as the 2016 Olympics. Inside this post, you can see the photographs that show the operation itself, the reaction of local residents on a drug war and a house of an alleged drug trafficker that looks luxurious compared to ordinary buildings in the Brazilian favelas.
"Why" is the name of a wordless book written by Nicolai Popov for children. It is an effective commentary on the futility of war.
This book was recognized as the best children's books in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
"I drew this book because I think if the children understand the futility of war, see how easy it is to succumb to violence, maybe they will fight with it in the future" - said Popov.
This is a wordless, "silent" book which is the best messenger of peace, than all the big words.
The book can also be a wonderful gift not only for a child but for an adult in a sign of reconciliation and love.

Impressive collection of historical pictures of World War II.

How do you think what it is? Any ideas?
The answer is inside the post :)

Polish illustrator Mariusz Kozik can really amaze! I can’t stop starring at his collection of war computer graphics. He seems to enjoy drawing medieval knights and modern infantries. As far as I know Kozik works for a game studio, so you might be playing computer games drawn by this illustrator.
