The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a beautiful place in southern Poland. It used to produce table salt for over 800 years till 2007 being one of the oldest companies in the world. This mine is referred to as ‘the undeground salt cathedral of Poland’ that attracts 1.2 million tourists from all over the world annually who come to see historic statues and mythical figures carved out of the rock salt.

This pink colored lake located in Senegal is called Lake Retba or Lac Rose. Its glamour color is due to many minerals and microorganisms in the water. Women in Senegal spend up to 14 hours a day on the banks of this lake to harvest salt. Each liter of water has about 380 grams of salt.
