This Japanese hotel was left for dead in 2005, but still looks as if people were just occupying it. Considering how much furniture and other items are still inside, it’s a surprise that no one has looted the hotel yet.

 

While it doesn’t come as a surprise that many Japanese women have bizarre fashion sense, it is still shocking nonetheless.

These photos of members of the Japanese Yakuza mafia were taken by photographer Anton Kusters.  He visited one family for two years. He learned all about the lifestyle of the tattooed criminals. He accompanied them to nightclubs, funerals and different social events.

 

These caricatures of the Japanese “Zero Fighter” in World War II are the work of artist Kunihiko Hisa. The Japanese military aircraft, officially known as the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, was made from 1940 to 1945.

 

It’s good for students who study all night just before an exam and often fall asleep on the table.

 

I don’t know if the Japanese people are considered fashionable or not but the folks in these photos certainly make a statement. They are not only less than fashionable, they are freaky. That is, of course, unless you considerable freaky fashionable.

Leave it to the Japanese! Instead of appealing to your good sense that smoking is going to kill you and those around you - They decide to warn you of other ways that smoking is detrimental. Like, littering, making your child's snowman ugly, and stinking the joint up. Not sure any of those reasons would make me quit smoking for good, actually I'm not sure these signs would make me want to do anything except light another one.

 

There is very unusual art in Japan. It is called “inemuri”, and it allows people to be asleep and present at the same time. There is no secret that Japan is a workaholic culture. Thus some people have an amazing talent for falling asleep in elevators, on trains and even during meetings. And this talent is admired, because the Japanese think that only slackers can sleep all night long, others should fall asleep out of exhaustion.

“Inemuri” still requires following particular rules. You can’t lounge, so you should keep upright while sleeping. And you can’t endanger the social situation.

Of course, some people fake “inemuri”. But even when they actually take a nap on the go, they can still maintain their composure. For example, they won’t miss their stop even when being genuinely asleep.

 

The puzzle is not new, but for those who haven’t seen it yet, it will be interesting, plus it is not that easy to solve at once.

Japanese artist Yasuhiro Suzuki has designed one of the most creative, original and unique boats in the world: a motorboat designed after a zipper tab!

What was only a scale model in 2004 has now become a reality and was presented at the Setouchi International Art Festival in Japan.

Yasuhiro Suzuki said: “As the vessel glides through the water, the wake looks like a zipper coming undone, suggesting the image of the sea opening up.”

I really like the bright colors of this IKEA Subway. I think it would be nice to enter such a carriage when you go to work in the morning. I can’t say that it’s amazing or wonderful, but the design is still creative.
