An unusual church has opened at Mitterfirmiansreut, near the German-Czech border.
Even centuries after, German medieval castles continue to amaze with their magnificence and beauty. Hohenzollern Castle is one of such dreamy places. It was built about a thousand years ago on top of Mount Hohenzollern, an isolated mountain 855 m (2,805 ft) above sea level.
Welcome to Tiger & Turtle Magic Mountain. This sculpture is the most unusual in the world. It is a frozen roller coaster that you don’t ride. You walk it. It is designed by Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth and built in Duisburg, Germany. As visitors rise by 45 meters (147 feet) above the level of landscape, they get an amazing view over the Rhine.
UPD: These are some amazing photos of Germany in early and late 20th century.
A storm with ping-pong-ball-sized hailstones raged across Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The houses look as if they were fired on from machine guns.
This fair trade annually held in Cologne, Germany has presented the best of what’s to come in the video games sector and once again, hundreds of thousands people visited it.
This is the world’s largest model airport. It is located in Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany. It seems to be about 1/50 scale and the attention to detail is amazing. Without something in the photos to determine its size, you would swear it is a real airport.

This is a giant landslide in Schmalkalden, Germany. Although the cause of the landslide isn’t known, what is known is the amount of devastation it caused. One of the things it caused was a tremendous hole right in the middle of a road.

A Bunch of photos from Wave-Gotik-Treffen which is an annual world festival for "dark" music and arts in Leipzig, Germany. The festival also features several fairs with medieval, gothic and cultural merchandise.
This great kinetic sculpture is located in the BMW museum in Germany. It consists of over 700 metal spheres that are moving chaotically at first and then resolve as a final shape. The result is outstanding, as you can see the outlines of famous BMW cars. This is something worth seeing, as kinetic installations are simply amazing.

Lots of people don’t really appreciate those new ‘naked’ body scanners, that’s why Pirate Party supporters made a demonstration at several German airports to show their opposition to the controversial scanners.
The participants stripped down to their underpants, walking behinds signs: “No need to scan us – we’re already naked.”

Oktoberfest is one of the most famous festivals in the world.
And if we talk about beer festivals, it is the world’s largest one.
The Munich Oktoberfest, traditionally, takes place during the sixteen days up to and including the first Sunday in October.
This year, the Munich Oktoberfest will take place from September 19 to October 4. More than six million people are awaited to attend the event.
The festival will last for about 2 weeks, so I think this is not the last picture collection from this fun event.
Well for now let's see how it all began. By the way, there are plenty of beautiful girls inside the post ;)

A very unusual hotel has opened its doors in the city of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
It is situated in the former building of the city jail.
Customers actually sleep in a cell where windows have also bars.
The toilet is located right in the room as in an ordinary prison cell.
The only difference with a real prison is that it’s a free entry and exit; it’s possible to use a phone whenever you want and you can have excellent food.

Designed by Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, this incredible building was erected in Germany and called the Waldspirale or wooded spiral.
All the windows are unique, which number is over 1000: no two windows are the same. Similarly, different handles are attached in each apartment to the doors and windows. Everything is unique in there, it is U-shaped and its facade painting is awesome. It contains 105 apartments, a parking garage, a kiosk as well as a café and a bar (the last two being located at the top of the spiral). The inner courtyard contains a playground for the children of the residents and a small artificial lake.
It’s the whole package. I’d love to live there :)

Meet Robert Schulte from Germany, the world’s most unusual group member.
The band plays heavy metal. The health state of Robert does not allow him to play or sing.
But he takes care of all that is advertising, management and website.
Whenever I see people like that, I say: hats off to them. They know how to enjoy life and more interesting, they seem never to complain. We should learn from such people.

Miniature Wonderland (German: Miniatur-Wunderland) is a model railway attraction in Hamburg, Germany and the largest of its kind in the world. As of January 2008, the railway consists of 11,000 metres (36,089 ft) of track in H0 scale, divided into five sections: Southern Germany, Hamburg and the coast, America, Scandinavia and Switzerland. Of the 4,000 square metres (43,056 sq ft) of floor space, the model takes 1,500 m2 (16,146 sq ft).
By 2014 the exhibit is due to double the number of sections to ten; the next section covering an airport, is due to open in 2009. The exhibit includes 900 trains made up of 12,000 carriages; 300,000 lights, 200,000 trees and 200,000 human figures.
All this can be seen in minor details. And judging by many photographs from there it is even hard to say that this is only a miniature, it looks very plausible.

It seems that a militant group has been formed in Berlin who’s burning luxury cars.
Mercedes, BMW and Porsche owners are worried since these cars are targets for the group.
There’s an assumption that this group has been formed because of economic recession and growing unemployment.
I think they could find a better way to protest…
