Located in Patagonia, Chile and right smack in the middle of the Huilo-Huilo biological reserve, this Magic Mountain hotel has stunning architecture that will blow any other hotel out of the water. Boasting a waterfall cascading down the side of this uniquely shaped hotel and a narrow swinging wooden bridge high in the air, this Middle Earth like lodge will have most visitors feeling like they have been transported into another time.
In early June, the volcano Puyheue in southern Chile started erupting volcanic ash. The president of Argentina announced that the residents, who were affected by the ash in the southwest region of Patagonia, will be provided with humanitarian assistance. And already on July 1st, the ash in the atmosphere prevented a flight from leaving the airport in Buenos Aires.
Here are the lands that got covered with ash.
This is the Puyehue volcano that is located in southern Chile. It erupted violently on June 5 and displayed a considerable amount of ash and smoke high into the air. The column of ash, smoke and gas was three miles wide and six miles high (10km). It was brought to Argentina by the wind covering some of its cities with a blanket of ash.
Twins Nicolas Luisetti and John Paul Olhaberry got a unique idea on how to celebrate Chile’s 200 years of Independence. They froze in the air, and spent 200 minutes “levitating” above thousands of passersby.
